is in need of SCIENCE RESEACH SPECIALIST II
 
Duties:
  1. Assist in the implementation of the plans, programs, projects and activities related to the Philippine Science Heritage Center (PSHC) specifically under the renovation and improvement of the PSHC and its facilities and  the development of new and interactive galleries and exhibits
  2. Prepare project proposals in coordination and/or approval of the PSHC Committee to be submitted to possible donors and other funding institutions
  3. Coordinate with members of the PSHC Committees; i.e., PSHC Working Committee, PSHC Inter-agency Working Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee for the Preparation of the
  4. PSHC Operation Plan, arrange its meeting, prepare agenda and minutes of the meeting and ensure that all decisions are carried out
  5. Assist in developing and maintaining linkages and networks with existing science centers in the country
  6. Prepare and recommend plans and programs to promote and market the PSHC
  7. In charge of the writing needs of the PSHC, e.g., press releases, reports, etc.
  8. Coordinate with the Clerk III and the FAD for the procurement needs of the project and/or the PSHC
  9. Serve as tour guide
  10. Perform other duties assigned from time to time.

  • Superior organizational skills – manages and organizes several events at the same time
  • Highly creative – conceptualizes and translates science/technical ideas into imaginative interactive exhibits for children
  • Above average written communication skills – writes well-organized proposals, reports, press releases, speeches, among others
  • Average oral communication skills – able to talk with others, to give and exchange ideas and information clearly and effectively
  • Good interpersonal skills – works well in a team and able to communicate effectively with the funding institutions, scientists/researchers, media and children
  • Problem solving skills – uses good judgement and resolves problems/concerns regarding assigned tasks
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any science-related course
  • One (1) year relevant experience
  • Four (4) hours of relevant trainingCompensation: P34,100/month
  • Period of engagement:  March to December 2017

Duties:
  1. Assist in the implementation of the plans, programs, projects and activities related to the Philippine Science Heritage Center (PSHC) under the Developing/Strengthening of
  2. Informal Learning Programs component of the project
  3. Ensure that all targets and activities identified under this component in the approved proposal are met on set time
  4. Prepare and draft reports (accomplishment and survey) and press releases after each report for consideration of the NAST Director and PSHC Focal Person
  5. Recommend measures to improve existing house rules and regulations in visiting the PSHC
  6. Work Closely with Clerk II in charge of tours to ensure smooth and enjoyable visit at the PSHC
  7. Promote the PSHC though various media, e.g., conduct of Salinlahi Caravans, maintain and update the PSHC website and other social media networks
  8. Coordinate the printing requirements of the function which is not limited to preparation of designs for backdrops, flyers, brochures, programs, etc.;
  9. Serve as a tour guide
  10. Perform other duties assigned from time to time.

  • Compensation: P26,793.60/month

is in need of CLERK II
 
Duties:
  1. Serve as tour guide of the PSHC and ensure that the tour goes smoothly and at least satisfactory for the visitors
  2. Coordinate closely with the Clerk III for the schedule of the tours.
    Conduct the satisfaction survey and summarize the results before forwarding to the SRS I for
  3. Promote the PSHC through visits to schools
  4. Assist in the conduct of and attend to the logistic requirements of activities of the PSHC
  5. Confirm attendance of resource persons, invitees/participants of the different activities; prepare attendance sheets and compile attendance reports;
  6. Render clerical services required for the project; transmit correspondences, including sending out of prepared invitation letters and other official documents through fax, email and mail;
  7. Maintain an updated directory of tour operators/school principals/ science coordinators/contacts/participants persons as well as records/documents generated from the day-to-day operation of the project; and
  8. Perform messengerial duties and other related tasks assigned from time to time.
 
Skills/Competencies Required:
  • Loves working with children
  • Good oral communication skills – give and exchange ideas and information clearly and effectively to various clientele; children from pre-school to college level.
  • Basic knowledge on computer software/applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Good interpersonal skills – works well in a team and able to communicate/deal effectively with resource persons, participants, suppliers, etc.
 
Qualifications:
  • Completion of two (2) year studies in college (management or related course)
  • Relevant experience an advantage but not required
  • Compensation – P13,989.60/month
  • Engagement period – March to December 2017
