NAST PHL to Conduct Scienteach: Symposium for the youth and Dialogue with NAST PHL Scientists in the Lost Horizon of the South– Camotes Islands, Cebu

BICUTAN, TAGUIG CITY – The National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VII, will conduct the ScienTeach: Symposium for the Youth and Dialogue with NAST PHL Scientists in Camotes Islands, Cebu, on March 11-12, 2025.
These programs aim to promote science and technology (S&T) through episodes highlighting varying topics featuring National Scientists, NAST PHL Members, and NAST PHL awardees who are accomplished in their respective fields.
The ScienTeach: Symposium for the Youth will be held on March 11, 2025 in Camotes Islands, Cebu. This activity aims to bring our scientists closer to the youth and inspire and encourage students to pursue a career in science, technology, and innovation. It is open to all junior and senior high school students.
NAST PHL Conducts Scienteach: Symposium for the Youth and Dialogue with NAST PHL Scientists in Batanes

BICUTAN, TAGUIG CITY – The National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office II, successfully conducted the ScienTeach: Symposium for the Youth and the Dialogue with NAST PHL Scientists in Batanes on February 18-19, 2025.
The ScienTeach: Symposium for the Youth was held on February 18, 2025, at Boulder-Bay Residences, Basco, Batanes wherein 137 participants (75 male and 62 female) attended.
The symposium began with welcome remarks from Ms. Luningning E. Samarita-Domingo, Director of NAST PHL, followed by the message of Ms. Jennifer H. Moro, Education Program Supervisor of DepEd Batanes. Ms. Nora T. Garcia, Provincial Director of the DOST-PSTO Batanes, discussed their plans and programs in the province.
NAST PHL and TOWNS hold Luzon workshop on climate change risks and vulnerabilities

Bataan, Philippines — The National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) Task Force on Climate Change, in collaboration with The Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Foundation, Inc., successfully hosted a workshop on climate risks and vulnerabilities on 5-6 February 2025 at the Sinagtala Farm Resort in Orani, Bataan.
This two-day event aimed to engage local stakeholders in identifying climate-related risks within their regions and discuss potential adaptation and mitigation measures. Moreover, it served as a platform for sharing experiences on science-based responses to typhoons, coastal erosions, landslides, and other hazards as well as local-led interventions.
